Average and Weighted Average
- Average represents the central value of a dataset and lies between maximum and minimum values
- If each observation is increased/decreased by constant N, average changes by same amount
- If each observation is multiplied/divided by constant N, average changes by same factor
Clock and Calendar
- Hour hand moves 30° per hour, minute hand moves 6° per minute
- Minute and hour hands collide 22 times in 24 hours (not between 11-12)
- Collision occurs every 12/11 hours = 65 5/11 minutes
Work, Time and Distance
- Work is directly proportional to time (more time = more work)
- Speed is inversely proportional to time (more speed = less time)
- If A completes work in n days, A's one day work = 1/n
Mensuration
- 2D figures have length and breadth only; 3D figures have length, breadth, and height
- When a solid is melted and reformed, volume remains constant
- Surface area includes curved surface area and total surface area
