Male Reproductive System
- Located in pelvic region with testes outside abdominal cavity in scrotum
- Scrotum maintains temperature 2-2.5°C lower than body temperature for spermatogenesis
- Each testis: 4-5 cm length, 2-3 cm width, contains 250 testicular lobules
Female Reproductive System

- Spermiogenesis: transformation of spermatids to spermatozoa
Menstrual Cycle
- 28-29 day cycle in human females, begins at menarche (puberty)
- Three phases: Menstrual phase (3-5 days), Follicular phase, Luteal phase
- Menstrual phase: breakdown of endometrium, menstrual flow
