If there are 4 rows of flowers with 6 flowers in each row, how many flowers are there in total?
Answer
Total flowers = 4 × 6 = 24 flowers. This is multiplication where we have 4 equal groups of 6 flowers each.
What is a multiple? Give an example.
Answer
A multiple is the result when we multiply a number by another whole number. For example, multiples of 3 are: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18... (3×1=3, 3×2=6, 3×3=9, etc.)
A frog jumps 3 steps at a time. What numbers will it touch after 5 jumps?
Answer
The frog will touch: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15. These are the first 5 multiples of 3 (3×1, 3×2, 3×3, 3×4, 3×5).
What are common multiples?
Answer
Common multiples are numbers that are multiples of two or more numbers. For example, common multiples of 2 and 3 are: 6, 12, 18, 24... because these numbers can be divided by both 2 and 3.
If 36 petals are arranged equally in 4 groups, how many petals are in each group?
Answer
Each group has 36 ÷ 4 = 9 petals. This is division where we share 36 petals equally among 4 groups.
What is doubling? Give an example.
Answer
Doubling means multiplying a number by 2. For example, double of 15 = 15 × 2 = 30. It's like adding a number to itself: 15 + 15 = 30.
When we double any number, is the result always even or odd?
Answer
When we double any number, the result is always EVEN. This is because we are multiplying by 2, and any number multiplied by an even number gives an even result.
