Introduction to Similar Figures
- Similar figures have the same shape but different sizes
- All corresponding angles are equal in similar figures
- All corresponding sides are in the same ratio (proportion)
Basic Proportionality Theorem (Thales Theorem)
- If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle, it divides the other two sides proportionally
- Converse: If a line divides two sides of a triangle in the same ratio, then it is parallel to the third side
