Introduction and Naming Sides in Right Triangles
- Trigonometry helps measure heights, distances, and slopes using triangle properties
- In a right triangle ABC with right angle at B: AC is hypotenuse, BC is opposite side to angle A, AB is adjacent side to angle A
- The hypotenuse is always the longest side opposite to the right angle
Trigonometric Ratios
- Six trigonometric ratios: sin, cos, tan, cosec, sec, cot

Trigonometric Ratios of Complementary Angles
- Two angles are complementary if their sum is 90°
- sin (90° - A) = cos A and cos (90° - A) = sin A
- tan (90° - A) = cot A and cot (90° - A) = tan A
