7.1 Describing Motion
- Motion is the change in position of an object with respect to time and a reference point
- A reference point (origin) is essential to describe the position of any object
- Objects can appear to be in motion for one observer and at rest for another (relative motion)
7.1.2 Uniform and Non-uniform Motion
- Uniform Motion: Object covers equal distances in equal intervals of time

- Velocity is speed in a definite direction - vector quantity
- Velocity can change by changing speed, direction, or both
- Average velocity = (Initial velocity + Final velocity) ÷ 2 (for uniform acceleration)
