Frequently Asked Questions

When will JEE Main 2026 admit card be released?

JEE Main admit cards are typically released 3–4 days before the exam date. For Session 1 (January 2026): expect admit card in mid-January. For Session 2 (April 2026): expect in early-mid April. NTA sends SMS/email notifications when admit cards are available. Check jeemain.nta.ac.in regularly from 5 days before the exam.

Steps: (1) Visit jeemain.nta.ac.in, (2) Click 'Download Admit Card', (3) Login with Application Number and Date of Birth (or Password), (4) Admit card PDF will open, (5) Download and take 2 colour printouts. If the website is slow (common on release day), try after midnight or early morning.

If the photo is blurred, incorrect, or someone else's photo appears — contact NTA immediately at jeemain-nta@nic.in with your application number and correct photo attached. Also call the NTA helpline. Do NOT go to the exam centre with a wrong photo — you may be denied entry. NTA usually resolves photo issues within 24–48 hours if reported early.

No. The admit card is mandatory for entry to the exam centre. Without it, you will NOT be allowed to take the exam. Always carry 2 printed copies. If you lose your admit card on exam day, try to download it on your phone and get a printout from a nearby shop. The exam centre will NOT provide a printout.

You must carry ONE valid photo ID along with the admit card: Aadhaar card (most accepted), passport, PAN card, voter ID, driving licence, or school ID with photo. The name on the ID must match the name on the admit card. Carry the original — photocopies are NOT accepted.

Minor errors (spelling, father's name) — report to NTA via email but still appear for the exam. Major errors (wrong exam centre, wrong date) — contact NTA helpline immediately. NTA may issue a revised admit card. Do NOT assume the error will be corrected automatically — always follow up until you get confirmation.
