1

Mean of Grouped Data

  • Mean is the sum of all observations divided by total number of observations
  • For grouped data, we use class marks (mid-points) to represent each class
  • Three methods exist: Direct Method, Assumed Mean Method, and Step Deviation Method
2

Mode of Grouped Data

  • Mode is the value that appears most frequently in the data
  • For grouped data, modal class is the class with highest frequency
  • Mode lies within the modal class interval
3

Median of Grouped Data

  • Median is the middle value when data is arranged in ascending order
  • For grouped data, median class is found using cumulative frequency
  • Median divides the distribution into two equal halves
4

Cumulative Frequency Distribution

  • Two types: 'Less than' type and 'More than or equal to' type
  • Less than type uses upper limits of class intervals
  • More than type uses lower limits of class intervals
